easyJet Records Busiest Day Ever With More Than 343,000 Passengers

easyJet has recorded its busiest day ever, with more than 343,000 passengers travelling across its network on 31 August.

More than 2,000 flights were operated during the day, including over 1,100 flights to and from UK airports, carrying more than 196,000 passengers.

The record comes during a particularly busy summer for the airline, which has increased capacity across a number of its UK bases.

Airports including Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Liverpool and Newcastle have all seen additional easyJet capacity this summer, with the airline adding more aircraft and launching new routes.

Across the UK, easyJet is operating more than 39 million seats during Summer 2026, around 500,000 more than last summer.

The airline has also introduced 53 new routes during the summer season, continuing its expansion across both major and regional UK airports.

The record passenger figure comes as the August Bank Holiday weekend brought the traditional final surge in summer holiday travel, with thousands of passengers heading abroad before the end of the school holidays.

For easyJet, the milestone highlights the scale of its current operation and continued demand for travel from the UK.
