Wizz Air Plans Major Starlink Wi-Fi Rollout Across Fleet From 2027

Wizz Air has announced plans to introduce Starlink inflight internet connectivity across its fleet from 2027, becoming the first ultra-low-cost airline in Europe to move forward with the technology on a large scale.

The airline says the rollout will gradually begin from next year, bringing high-speed onboard internet access to passengers across its growing European network.

The announcement marks another major step in Wizz Air’s wider digital expansion strategy following the launch of its new integrated digital cabin ecosystem earlier this year in partnership with Immfly and gateretail.

Introduced in March 2026, the system brought Bluetooth-enabled in-seat ordering across Wizz Air’s fleet of more than 260 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, allowing passengers to order food, drinks and onboard products directly from their devices during flights.

At the same time, Wizz Air also began trialling limited onboard connectivity across selected UK-based aircraft, including inflight messaging services, wireless entertainment purchases and live payment authorisation technology.

The airline says the latest Starlink announcement forms part of its long-term investment in onboard digital infrastructure and passenger connectivity as customer expectations around inflight internet continue to evolve.

For Wizz Air, the move represents another significant step in modernising the onboard passenger experience while continuing to operate within the ultra-low-cost market.

As airlines increasingly compete on onboard technology and digital passenger experience, reliable inflight connectivity is becoming a much larger part of the overall travel experience across both low-cost and full-service carriers.

The rollout is expected to begin gradually from 2027 across the airline’s fleet.
