easyJet to Introduce Starlink Wi-Fi Across Its Fleet From 2027

easyJet is set to introduce onboard Wi-Fi for the first time, partnering with Starlink to bring high-speed internet connectivity to passengers across its aircraft from 2027.

The airline has announced plans for a rapid rollout of the satellite-powered service, marking a major development in its onboard passenger experience.

The introduction of Starlink will allow passengers to stay connected during their flights, with the technology designed to provide faster internet speeds and improved connectivity compared with traditional inflight Wi-Fi systems.

The move will bring easyJet into a growing group of airlines investing in satellite connectivity, as demand for internet access onboard continues to increase.

Starlink, operated by SpaceX, uses a network of satellites in low Earth orbit to provide internet connectivity.

Its technology is already being introduced by airlines around the world, with the aim of improving the experience for passengers travelling on both short-haul and longer flights.

For easyJet, the introduction of onboard Wi-Fi represents a significant change to its passenger offering.

The airline has traditionally focused on providing affordable short-haul travel across Europe, with passengers travelling between destinations in relatively short periods of time.

However, the introduction of high-speed connectivity could provide additional options for passengers looking to work, browse the internet or stay connected with friends and family while travelling.

The planned rollout from 2027 will also mean passengers flying with easyJet could begin seeing connectivity become a more regular feature across the airline’s network.

The announcement comes as airlines continue to look at ways to improve the passenger experience, with onboard connectivity becoming an increasingly important part of the industry.

easyJet has not yet confirmed the full rollout schedule, which aircraft will receive the technology first.

Further details are expected as the airline progresses towards the introduction of the service.

The partnership with Starlink represents another significant development for easyJet as it prepares to introduce new technology across its fleet, with the first onboard connectivity services expected to arrive in 2027.
