British Airways reshuffles its A380 Network

British Airways has changed two more significant A380 routes.

We recently posted an article in relation to British airways removing its Airbus 380 from the LAX routes, since then more changes have occurred.

London Heathrow to Singapore will return on the 7th September 2026, the first time BA has sent its Airbus A380 since 2025, replacing a Boeing 787-9.

British airways sending the A380 will take Singapore up to 3 daily A380s from London Heathrow joining Qantas and Singapore airlines, making this one of the most competitive routes for this aircraft type.

This aircraft upgrade will provide roughly an extra 250 seats, which includes up to 55 extra business seats compared to the Boeing 787-9.

London Heathrow to Johannesburg will end on 24th October 2026 and replaced with a Boeing 787-9 on early evening and a Boeing 777 on later evening departure.

This will mark a huge shift and will be the first time the A380 hasn’t served South African since the covid pandemic.

This may be an aircraft upgrade for many, as the Club suites (pictured above) will finally arrive on this route, as before the A380 is fitted with Club World,

As mentioned in our previous article, During this time the Airbus A380's will under-go major refurbishments, announced by British Airways in 2024. Including the new First class suite with  a wider and longer seat, a 32-inch TV screen, buddy dining, optimal sense of space and privacy, with a personal luggage space
