British Airways Reveals Summer 2027 Reward Flights from Heathrow to Majorca and Crete

2 min read

British Airways has announced two new Avios-Only return flights from London Heathrow to Majorca and Crete for summer 2027, giving members of its loyalty programme the opportunity to book every seat on dedicated services using Avios.

The flights will operate in August, during the peak summer holiday season, with both services departing on 14 August 2027 and returning a week later on 21 August.

The first service will connect Heathrow with Palma de Mallorca, with return economy fares available for 28,000 Avios plus £5. Customers travelling in Club Europe business class can book for 49,000 Avios plus £40 return.

The second service will operate between Heathrow and Heraklion, on the Greek island of Crete.

Return economy fares start at 33,500 Avios plus £5, while Club Europe seats will cost 60,000 Avios plus £40.

Bookings open on 22 October 2026 and are available exclusively to members of The British Airways Club. Checked baggage is included in the advertised fares.

Avios-Only flights differ from standard British Airways services because every seat in every cabin is made available exclusively for redemption using Avios.

This gives members access to dedicated reward inventory on popular leisure routes, including during busy holiday periods when reward availability can be more limited.

The latest announcement adds two Mediterranean destinations to the airline’s growing collection of dedicated reward flights.

British Airways introduced the Avios-Only concept in 2023 and says it has since operated more than 50 such services to destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and the Middle East.

Customers who hold eligible British Airways American Express credit cards can also use Companion Vouchers when booking these flights, subject to the applicable terms.

The vouchers can provide a second seat for no additional Avios, with taxes and charges still payable, or offer a reduction in the Avios required for eligible solo bookings.

The new services will give travellers another option for using their accumulated Avios towards a summer holiday, particularly those planning their travel well in advance.

For British Airways, the dedicated flights provide another way to engage loyalty programme members while offering a different route to securing reward seats during the summer peak.

Both services will operate from London Heathrow, with the outbound flights departing on 14 August 2027 and the return journeys scheduled for 21 August.

With bookings opening on 22 October 2026, members interested in using their Avios for either destination will be able to check availability and book through British Airways once sales begin.
