Virgin Atlantic expands at Manchester Airport


Virgin Atlantic has responded to the base closure of Aer Lingus at Manchester Airport by adding additional capacity. 

Virgin Atlantic have confirmed they are increasing capacity by 12% in peak summer on the Manchester to Orlando route. 


In addition capacity will be increased by 17% in Winter26 and aircraft upgraded to the airlines A350-1000. 


Further capacity increases are expected for Summer27 & will be announced soon. 

Dave Geer, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic, said:


“Manchester has been our home in the North for thirty years and we’re in it for the long haul. Increasing capacity on our Orlando services is a clear signal of that commitment, ensuring customers can continue to travel across the Atlantic from their local airport. 

 

“We’re also proud to be welcoming experienced Aer Lingus pilots into Virgin Atlantic and to be supporting customers impacted by their changes. Manchester matters to us, and we’ll continue to invest in the region as demand grows.”
