Jet2 Launches New Travel eSIM Service For International Travellers

Jet2 has announced the launch of a new Travel eSIM service, allowing customers to access mobile data overseas without needing to swap their physical SIM card.

Launching from 7 July, the service has been introduced in partnership with Airalo and is designed to provide travellers with an easier and potentially cheaper alternative to traditional roaming charges

The Travel eSIM works alongside a customer’s existing SIM card, meaning passengers can continue using their normal phone number for calls and text messages while using the eSIM for mobile data abroad. As a digital SIM, it can be installed directly through a compatible smartphone without requiring a physical SIM card.

Jet2 says customers will be able to choose from a range of data packages depending on their destination and travel requirements, with installation completed through the Airalo app.

The airline also highlights upfront pricing, allowing customers to know exactly what they will pay before travelling, while Airalo will provide 24-hour customer support for activation and technical assistance.

The new service will be available through a dedicated co-branded website, with links also accessible via Jet2’s Manage My Booking portal and the Essentials sections of both the Jet2 and Jet2holidays websites.

The launch reflects a growing trend across the airline industry, with carriers increasingly expanding beyond flights and holidays by offering additional digital travel services aimed at improving the overall customer experience.
