European Cargo Limited has entered administration, with the Bournemouth-based cargo airline confirming the appointment of Joint Administrators in a notice published on its official website.
The airline, which operated long-haul Airbus A340 freighter aircraft from Bournemouth Airport, confirmed that Stuart Morris, Robert Fishman and David Soden of Teneo Financial Advisory Limited were appointed as Joint Administrators on 3 June 2026.
A statement published on the company’s website reads:
“The affairs, business and property of the Company are managed by the Joint Administrators.”
European Cargo Limited became a recognisable name within the UK cargo aviation sector after launching operations using converted Airbus A340 aircraft, supporting long-haul freight services from Bournemouth Airport.
The airline also played a role during the Covid-19 pandemic, operating cargo flights carrying vital PPE supplies into the UK during 2020.
European Cargo had recently announced expansion plans at Teesside International Airport, including new China-linked cargo services. The administration comes only months after the carrier revealed ambitions to grow its UK freight network
At this stage, the future of the airline’s operations, fleet and workforce remains uncertain.
Reports have also emerged suggesting staff were informed of redundancies following the appointment of administrators, although further details surrounding the insolvency process are still expected.
Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
