Emirates opens new £10m lounge at Manchester Airport

Emirates has opened its new £10 million lounge at Manchester Airport, bringing the airline’s latest lounge concept to the UK for the first time.
The new lounge is located in Terminal 2 and has been designed around separate areas for dining, relaxing, working and socialising. Emirates says the facility includes more than 50 design enhancements, alongside upgraded technology and new passenger facilities.
The opening represents a major investment by Emirates in its Manchester operation, with the airline continuing to operate three daily services between Manchester and Dubai.
A new Emirates lounge concept
The Manchester lounge is the first UK location to feature Emirates’ latest signature lounge design.
Passengers can use Italian eco-leather seating with wireless charging and universal power access, while the lounge also features private workspaces, upgraded shower facilities and a dedicated Quiet Zone with sleep amenities.
There are also prayer rooms and areas designed for passengers who want to relax before their flight.
One of the main features is direct boarding from the lounge to the aircraft. Emirates says it is currently the only airline at Manchester Airport offering passengers this facility.
Manchester-inspired food and drink
Emirates has also introduced a Made in Manchester menu, bringing local food and suppliers into the airline’s international lounge offering.
The menu includes Wigan meat and potato pie, Fleetwood marinated king prawns, Fleetwood sea bream, Lancashire smoked trout and Cheshire cheeses.
An open kitchen will prepare dishes to order, while a dedicated barista bar serves coffee featuring designs inspired by the Manchester worker bee and Emirates branding.
The lounge also has a dedicated mixologist serving cocktails and mocktails, including the signature Made in Manchester drink, made with Vimto Summer, grenadine, lemonade and fresh strawberry.
The local menu is served alongside a wider international selection of food and Emirates’ drinks offering, including Moët & Chandon Champagne.
The new lounge adds another premium facility to Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 as the airport’s wider £1.5 billion transformation nears completion.
Emirates says the investment reflects Manchester’s importance as a gateway within its global network and its long-term commitment to the region.
Manchester Airport Chief Commercial Officer Stephen Turner said the new lounge combines the airport’s international connectivity with a focus on the region, highlighting the direct boarding facility and the use of local food and suppliers.
The opening gives Manchester another significant premium passenger facility and marks the first UK launch of Emirates’ latest lounge concept.
