British Airways Unveils New First Suite, 106 Club Suites and Major Heathrow T5 Lounge Upgrade

British Airways has unveiled one of its biggest customer experience updates yet, revealing an all-new First Suite, a completely redesigned Airbus A380 Club World cabin with 106 Club Suites, refreshed World Traveller Plus and World Traveller cabins, and the next phase of its Heathrow Terminal 5 lounge transformation.

The announcements were made on 5 October 2026 as part of British Airways' wider multi-billion-pound investment in customer experience, covering both its aircraft and facilities at Heathrow.

A new First Suite for British Airways

British Airways is introducing a completely new First Suite, designed around privacy, comfort and personal space.

The new product features a more private environment while retaining British touches throughout the cabin.

One of the standout features is buddy dining, allowing customers travelling together to share a dining experience.

The new First Suite represents another major step in British Airways' investment in its premium cabin, with the airline looking to create a more modern experience for its highest-paying passengers.

The A380 gets 106 Club Suites

The biggest change will come onboard British Airways' Airbus A380 fleet.

The airline has confirmed that its redesigned A380 Club World cabin will span the entire upper deck, with 106 Club Suites across four distinct zones.

That will create British Airways' largest business-class cabin and represents a major change from the current A380 Club World layout.

The new cabin will feature a refreshed design, additional storage and an updated Club Kitchen, giving passengers a dedicated area to pick up snacks and refreshments during the flight.

The A380 has been one of the major remaining parts of BA's long-haul fleet awaiting its new Club Suite product, making today's announcement particularly significant.

British Airways currently operates 12 Airbus A380s, meaning the changes will eventually affect the airline's entire A380 fleet.

World Traveller Plus gets a major refresh

The changes aren't limited to First and Club World.

British Airways is also introducing a refreshed World Traveller Plus cabin.

Passengers will receive larger entertainment screens, privacy wings and new bedding, alongside a reusable tote-style amenity kit.

The changes are designed to provide a more modern and comfortable premium economy experience, particularly on the airline's long-haul services from Heathrow.

World Traveller also receives an upgrade

British Airways is also refreshing its standard World Traveller economy cabin.

The new product will feature wider seats and larger entertainment screens, alongside upgraded bedding.

The new bedding includes supportive herringbone pillows and cosy blankets, giving passengers additional comfort during longer flights.

This means the latest investment covers the entire aircraft, rather than being focused exclusively on premium passengers.

More investment at Heathrow Terminal 5

Alongside the aircraft changes, British Airways has announced the next phase of its Heathrow Terminal 5 lounge transformation.

The airline is introducing a new Terminal 5 lounge, continuing its investment in the facilities used by passengers at its main UK hub.

Terminal 5 is the heart of British Airways' Heathrow operation and is home to the airline's First Wing, Galleries lounges and Concorde Room.

The latest announcement represents another major step in BA's plans to modernise its Heathrow experience.

A major investment from airport to aircraft

Today's announcements form part of British Airways' wider multi-billion-pound investment in customer experience.

The airline has been progressively introducing Club Suite, refurbishing aircraft interiors and upgrading its airport facilities.

The latest programme takes that investment further, with changes across First, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller, alongside continued investment at Heathrow Terminal 5.

For passengers, the aim is to create a more consistent experience across the British Airways long-haul fleet and at its main hub.

The British Airways A380 is about to look very different

For aviation fans and regular BA customers, the A380 transformation will likely be the biggest talking point.

The aircraft remains one of the most recognisable in the British Airways fleet, but its existing interior has increasingly stood out as the airline has introduced newer products elsewhere.

That is now changing.

With 106 Club Suites across the entire upper deck, alongside the new First Suite and refreshed economy cabins, the A380 will receive one of the most significant interior changes in its British Airways service life.

The investment also means passengers will see improvements before they even board, with the continued transformation of Heathrow Terminal 5.
